Technology Cadet: First Signal
This is the first SOTE mission. It is designed for new students, visitors, high school groups, elementary groups, open houses, and first-day orientation.
Your mission briefing
SOTEE has detected a new signal entering the ecosystem. Your job is to learn what SOTE is, identify the major zones, meet the characters, and choose the pathway you want to explore next.
Technology Cadet
Visitors can receive a physical badge, sticker, or card. Students can use this as the first entry in their Student Technology Corps journey.

First Signal received.
You have completed the Technology Cadet demo mission. A student guide, instructor, or tour leader can now issue the physical Technology Cadet badge, sticker, or card if this is being used during an approved visit.
What to do during the mission
This version is designed to be usable immediately during a tour.
Say what SOTE is
Example: “SOTE is a student-operated technology ecosystem where students build, support, document, and defend real learning infrastructure.”
Find three zones
Pick any three: Mission Control, Rocket’s Forge, ACE Support Command, Patch Bay Alpha, Rocket’s Engineering Bay, or Western Pennsylvania Cyber Defense Command.
Meet the characters
Choose two characters and explain what they represent. SOTEE guides, Ace supports, Rocket builds, Kingston defends, and Cypher Raven challenges.
Student guide says
“Congratulations. You just completed your first SOTE mission. You learned the story, found the zones, met the characters, and chose a pathway. That makes you a Technology Cadet.”

Physical badge note
This mission is the recommended first physical badge experience for visitors. Use the printable badge sheet for guided visits when a physical Technology Cadet badge experience is appropriate.
